IYP: The Sublime -v1-On almost any given day, you could walk outside and find a pretty sight - the sky, blue or stormy, a flower, a tree, an animal, or just the landscape itself. I don’t think many of us would question the beauty of nature, but then again how many of us are philosophers who contemplate aesthetics? It turns out that people who are tend not to value nature so highly.   
A great many authors who have published works on the essence and definition of art and beauty take the opinion of Plato, the Ancient Greek academic. In short, this argument claims that any work of art, anything that human beings have made, is superior to nature by vir IYP: The Sublime -v1-

IYP: Future of Robotics -v1-Introduction   
The field of robotics is always looking forward. Researchers constantly try to develop new ideas and technologies. Oftentimes, this leaves many problems in implementation. When a roboticist makes predictions about what their new mechanism, software, or algorithm can do, they often fail to consider whether the approach is useful or feasible, because they are still overwhelmed by the thrill of success.  This disconnect is nothing new; every scientific field has ‘pure’ and ‘applied’ branches. IYP: Fictional Religions -v2-1. Introduction: The Concept of Fictional Religions   
The concept of a fictional religion must be distinguished from that of “false” religions, i.e. cults. The designation of non-mainstream religious practices as cults and false faiths is a social designation and is based on prevailing opinion and authority. Fictional religions as we define them are religions which were never intended to be practiced seriously. Whereas cults at least claim to be actual and valid religions, fictional religions usually do not.

Have been in California a few months now. Previously I had decided to just stop putting anything remotely personal out on the net. That's probably an over-active interpretation of the rules. My plan now is just not to post anything about my job. That is, however, a major part of my life so... journals won't have much content. Which is how it was before when I had no job. ^^

Will be going home for Xmas. If you live anywhere near New Jersey, give a holler.

New submissions? Questionable. Not that I have political ambitions but I might be the subject of closer scrutiny now. We'll see how it goes. Also, not sure if anyone is interested in discussions of military air power or electrical engineering. I'll have to think about new submissions, especially for this account. Maybe I'll have non-essays; those would go in the alternate account. If/when I put out a few new things there I'll post it in this journal.

Don't be bothered by the formal tone - sometimes that's the best way to get a point across. I assure you, these times when I do revisit dA are good fun. Maybe the poem offsets it a little? Heh. )

yeah pretty much the same, but i have been a bit too lazy and now have a physics assessment that counts towards 30% of my mark due on friday and its not even half done
